Formal Processing of Juveniles Appears to Increase Delinquency
A recent meta-analysis of 29 separate studies concluded that processing juvenile delinquency referrals through the Court system did not appear to have any crime control effect, and may actually increase delinquency. The best results came from programs that divert juveniles from the system.
